Ireland beat Netherlands by 1 run (x.com)

Ireland and the Netherlands faced off in the 2nd match of the Twenty20 Tri-Series in the Netherlands 2024 at the Sportpark Duivesteijn in Voorburg on May 19.

The Netherlands won the toss and elected to bowl first against the visitors. Ireland, starting on a good note, posted a respectable target of 150 runs in their 20 overs.

This was largely thanks to wicketkeeper-batter Lorcan Tucker, who scored 40 runs, and bowling all-rounder Mark Adair, who contributed a vital 49 runs.

In their chase, Netherlands’ star openers Michael Levitt and Max O’Dowd provided a solid start, with Levitt scoring 19 runs and O’Dowd contributing 33. However, Curtis Campher’s crucial deliveries dismissed both batsmen.

The experienced Irish fast bowler Mark Adair then held his nerves in the final overs, sealing a thrilling 1-run victory for Ireland.

With this narrow win, Ireland clinched a crucial victory in the tri-nation T20I series at The Hague, demonstrating their resilience and competitive edge against the hosts.
